Ghanaian forward Jonathan Sowah has ended his stay at Tanzanian giants Simba SC after both parties agreed to a mutual contract termination.
The 27-year-old joined the Tanzanian giants last year from Singida Black Stars, having previously featured for Medeama SC and Al Nasr.
However, his time at the club has now come to an abrupt end following a series of off-field issues.
Sowah had been at the centre of disciplinary matters after he and teammate Alhasane Kante were handed a five-match ban and fined following incidents during a league game against Azam FC in December last year.
The lethal striker was later suspended by Simba SC and asked to respond to allegations made against him, but sources indicate he was unhappy with the situation, leading to his decision to seek an exit.
Reports suggest Sowah’s representatives formally submitted a request for mutual termination, bringing an end to his short spell with the club as he now looks ahead to the next step in his career.
Jonathan Sowah is very popular among Ghanaian football faithful having made headlines in the country few years back including debut invite to the Black Stars and has two appearances with the senior national team.
