The 24-year-old full-back of Ghanaian descent is reportedly heading to the Spanish top-flight, with the La Liga top guns duo tipped to be his likely destination in the summer
Dutch-born Ghanaian right-back Jeremie Frimpong has hatched a plan of moving to the Spanish elite division after being linked up with a transfer switch to either Barcelona or Real Madrid from Bayer Leverkusen next season, a report from the German media has claimed.
With Premier League superpowers of Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City credited with a move for his signature in the summer, the ex-Celtic defender is now believed to be heading to Spain and could link up with either the Camp Nou or Santiago Bernabéu Stadium outfit as per Sky Germany.
Frimpong would not come cheap for his admirers given his transfermarkt valuation of 50 million euros as his current contract with the Bundesliga outfit is due to expire in 2028.
He has so far been involved in 10 assists by scoring 3 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions for his side in this current 2024-25 campaign.
Given his Ghanaian heritage, Frimpong remains unfit to play for Ghana on the international stage having been cap-tied by The Netherlands senior national team.
