Former Black Stars striker Benjamin Tetteh continued his fine scoring form in Slovenia, bagging a brace for NK Maribor in their dramatic 3-3 draw with NK Bravo in the Prva Liga over the weekend.
The 26-year-old forward, who joined Maribor this summer to spearhead their attack, underlined his strength and clinical finishing in a match packed with twists and late drama.
Maribor trailed at halftime after Bravo midfielder Sandi Nuhanovic broke the deadlock in the 19th minute. But Ghanaian midfielder Eric Taylor, introduced at the start of the second half, made an immediate impact by equalising just two minutes later.
Tetteh then took centre stage. In the 53rd minute, he latched onto a pass from Orphe Mbina and coolly slotted home to make it 2-1. Moments later, he doubled his tally with a trademark finish, powering Maribor into a 3-1 lead.
However, Bravo mounted a late comeback. Venuste Baboula converted a penalty to reduce the deficit before substitute Rok Kopatin struck deep into stoppage time to deny Maribor all three points.
Despite the late setback, Tetteh’s performance was a major highlight, taking his tally to three goals in five league appearances this season as he looks to cement his role as Maribor’s attacking talisman.
