Ghanaian midfielder Eric Taylor opened his scoring account for NK Maribor in their pulsating 3-3 draw with NK Bravo in the Slovenian Prva Liga over the weekend.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Slovenian giants this summer from Norwegian side Kongsvinger IL Toppfotball, wasted no time in making his mark. Introduced at the start of the second half, Taylor struck just two minutes later to level the score, showcasing his sharp instincts and growing influence in the team.

Maribor had trailed from the 19th minute after Sandi Nuhanovic gave Bravo the lead with a fine finish. But Taylor’s quick response revitalised the home side before former Ghana international Benjamin Tetteh took centre stage.

Tetteh fired Maribor ahead in the 53rd minute after being set up by Orphe Mbina and doubled his tally moments later, using his strength and precision to make it 3-1.

However, Bravo refused to surrender. Venuste Baboula converted a penalty in the 87th minute to pull one back, and substitute Rok Kopatin struck deep into stoppage time to stun Maribor and snatch a dramatic point.

Despite the late setback, Taylor’s maiden goal was a key highlight. The Ghanaian midfielder has now contributed one goal and two assists in seven appearances across the Prva Liga and UEFA Conference League, underlining his rising importance to Maribor’s ambitions this season.
