The transformative midfielder has committed his future at the Lotto Park outfit until the summer of 2027.
Ghana international Majeed Ashimeru has signed a new two-year contract with Belgian Jupilier Pro League giants RSC Anderlecht ahead of the 2024–25 season's campaign.
The 26-year-old, who had arrived at RSC Anderlecht in 2021 from Red Bull Salzburg had a season left on his contract, was offered a new lucrative deal to extend his stay for two more seasons to wear the purple's shirt.
The club's official statement reads: “Majeed Ashimeru has extended his contract with RSC Anderlecht until 2027. The Ghanaian midfielder has thus signed for two extra seasons.”
Since arriving at the Belgian club in 2021 from Red Bull Salzburg for a transfer fee of €1.5 million, the former WAFA SC enforcer has made over 100 appearances for Anderlecht.
Due to injuries, he made only 12 appearances for RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Jupilier Pro League last season.
“In the last three seasons at RSC Anderlecht, I have grown as a player and as a person. I’m very grateful to both the club and the fans for their continued support over the past years,” Ashimeru told the club's official website after inking the contact.
“They [Fans] have come to know me as a player, but I have the feeling I have more to give back. I want to do everything within my powers to make the fans and the club proud. That’s also why I’m so happy to extend my contract here.”
Ashimeru has capped nine times for the senior national team of Ghana.
