English side Hull City are set to announce the signing of Ghana attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante after reaching an agreement with rivals West Bromwich Albion.

The two second-tier clubs have struck an agreement which will see the 25-year-old frontman sign a three-year contract at the MKM Stadium with the option of a fourth year.

The imminent arrival of burly striker is a significant boost to Tim Walter's attacking options for the 2024–25 season as they battle for a promotion to the Premier League.

Thomas-Asante will be in attendance when City host Italian giants Fiorentina in their penultimate friendly of pre-season on Tuesday night.

He will link up with Walter's squad later this week and is expected to be in contention to face Reading at the SCL Stadium on Saturday as Hull City wrap up their pre-season.

The Black Stars striker, who can also operate off the right flank, played 39 times in the Championship last term for Albion, netting 11 goals and registering two assists as Carlos Corberan's side snatched a play-off place ahead of the Tigers, before losing out to eventual Wembley winners Southampton.

Thomas-Asante netted 18 goals in 72 appearances for the Baggies after joining them in 2022 from Salford City when the Championship club paid around £300,000 for the Ghana international, who was heading into the final 12 months of his Hawthorns deal.

He made his debut for the senior national team of Ghana during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi in March 2024.

How much West Brom will receive from Brandon Thomas-Asante transfer to Hull City

West Brom will be receiving well below £2m from selling of Ghanaian centre-forward in the ongoing summer transfer window.

It had been suggested by some media outlets that the Baggies would get between £3m and £2.5m for the sale of the 25-year-old striker.

However, Hull Live has reported that from sources close to the deal that the final fee agreed with Albion is significantly less than the originally reported figure and well below £2m, which is viewed by Tigers bosses as smart business for a key performer at one of their rivals.
