Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo believes he can improve his performances for the national team despite his latest goal in Ghana’s emphatic victory over Chad.
Semenyo opened the scoring as Ghana cruised to a 5-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium on matchday five of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The goal was his third for the Black Stars in 21 appearances since making his debut in 2022 and his first since netting against Angola in March 2023.
In an exclusive interview with Lawrence Baidoo for SuperSport, the Bournemouth attacker expressed his determination to improve his goal-scoring form.
"I definitely want more goals, for sure. Any player in an attacking position wants more goals," he said. "I feel like I’ve had some decent performances, some not-so-great performances. But I’m humble—I know when I’ve played well, and I know when I haven’t."
Semenyo admitted that he has yet to be a decisive figure for the national team but remains optimistic about his growth.
"I’d say my performances have been steady—just very average—but I know I can give more," he added. "I hope no one is judging me based on these 26 games, because there’s definitely more to come."
After breaking his goal drought, Semenyo will be aiming to find the net again when Ghana take on Madagascar on Monday, March 24, as they look to extend their lead in Group I of the qualifiers.
