Former Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson has named Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo as a potential summer signing who could step in should one of Liverpool’s attacking trio depart in the upcoming transfer window.

Amid growing speculation surrounding the futures of Darwin Núñez, Luis Díaz, and Diogo Jota, Johnson weighed in on how Liverpool might reshape their frontline. Núñez has come under scrutiny for inconsistent finishing, while Díaz and Jota have also been linked with possible moves away from Anfield. Mohamed Salah, who remains Liverpool’s most consistent forward, may soon find himself carrying the attacking load alone if key departures occur.

In an interview with *Football Insider*, Johnson highlighted Díaz as the standout among the trio but admitted he doesn’t score as often as his talent suggests.

> “I like all three of them, but if I had to pick one, it would probably be Díaz. When he’s on form, he’s fantastic. He doesn’t get as many goals as his ability should allow, but he’s a pain in the backside for defenders and gets the team up the pitch,” Johnson said.

When asked about a suitable replacement, Johnson suggested:

“Maybe Semenyo – he’s quick, powerful, explosive. But it would, obviously, be a massive step forward playing for Liverpool. You never know what someone can do until you chuck them in the deep end. I’d probably pick him.”

The 25-year-old Ghanaian international has enjoyed a breakout season at Bournemouth, tallying 11 goals and 6 assists in 39 appearances. Semenyo’s speed, direct running, and physicality have made him one of the most dangerous wide forwards outside the Premier League’s traditional top six.

While Johnson acknowledges the jump in expectations at Liverpool would be steep, he believes Semenyo has the raw tools to thrive at Anfield—particularly if the Reds are preparing for a summer rebuild under incoming manager Arne Slot.

With Liverpool reportedly aiming to refresh their squad and add more firepower in the final third, Semenyo could emerge as a realistic target in their summer transfer plans.
