Ghanaian youngster Isaac Atanga unlocked his scoring run-down as Aalesunds edged Molde 3-1 at home on Tuesday, keeping them sixteenth in Norwegian Eliteserien and accruing four points after seven matches.
The hosts - although never looked at their best as they failed to dominate the possession stats in both halves, but still went ahead to snatch the maximum points at stake.
Nigerian striker Moses Ebiye broke the deadlock after converting the spot kick in the 40th minute, while Molde had chances to score with a penalty but Sivert Mannsverk couldn't convert, leaving it 1-0 at half-time.
After recess, Marius Lenni Bøe's men saw more chances arrive their way than their possession-hungry counterparts. Aalesunds held strong, displaying strong character upfront and out of nowhere, Atanga fired home twice in the 57th with a cheeky dunk and dazzled around Molde's defensive challenges to grab his second in the 61st minute in what became a comfortable performance and victory for the Tangoshirts, despite pulling a bad statistical numbers after the match.
Molde racked up a goal to make it 3-1 in the 90th minute mark through 19-year-old Niklas Ødegård as Aalesunds made sure their three match winning run came to an abrupt end.
