Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana received a red card in Southampton painful 4-1 home defeat to Leicester City in the English Championship on Friday night.
Sulemana, who returned to action after a long injury layoff, was sent off for a clumsy tackle on James Justin in the final moments of the fixture at the St. Mary's Stadium.
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy traded passes with Stephy Mavididi before stunning the homesters with his cool side-foot finish to give the Foxes the ideal start.
Kasey McAteer met a fine Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall through ball to make it two after 18 minutes and, while a defensive error gifted Sam Edozie a Saints response, Wilfred Ndidi put Leicester 3-1 up in first-half injury time.
The excellent Mavididi ran from deep inside his own half to add a fourth with a superb solo goal against a side that beat the Foxes twice last season in a Premier League campaign that ended with both being relegated.
Sulemana was introduced into the game before the commencement of the second half as replacement for Samuel Edozie.
His compatriot Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who is currently on a season-long loan spell at Leicester City from Sporting CP, also climbed off the bench in the 70th minute to substitute Kasey McAteer.
The defeat leaves Southampton at 7th position on the 2023/24 Championship table with ten points while Leicester City return to the top with 15 points after six games.
