Ghanaian defender Kojo Peprah Oppong is set to join French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice after Swedish club IFK Norrkoping accepted a formal offer for the 21-year-old.
The deal, first reported by Expressen, is understood to be in its final stages, with a medical scheduled in France before the transfer can be finalised.
Oppong has been a standout performer for Norrkoping this season, making 23 appearances in the Allsvenskan and emerging as a central figure in the club’s defensive line. The centre-back rose through the ranks after loan spells at GIF Sundsvall, solidifying his role as a first-team regular.
Speaking after Norrkoping’s recent match against IFK Varnamo, Oppong hinted at a possible departure. “I think it might have been that (the last game). We’ll see, but I hope Norrkoping’s fans understand. It’s very close,” he told NT-sporten.
A graduate of the Attram De Visser Soccer Academy in Accra, Oppong is contracted with Norrkoping until the end of 2026, but a move to France is seen as a significant step forward in his career.
If completed, the transfer would mark another high-profile European move for a Ghanaian player, underscoring the growing impact of Ghanaian talent in top leagues across the continent.
