The Belgian top-flight side captured the signature of the talented teenage sensation from their league rivals in the final hours of the just-ended winter transfer window
Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk have announced the signing of Ghanaian teenager Emmanuel Sarfo on a two-and-a-half-year deal from top division rivals RSC Anderlecht.
The 17-year-old, who swapped the Lotto Park outfit with the Cegeka Arena campaigners, is set to spent time with the Jong Genk for the rest of the ongoing Challenger Pro League season.
An official confirmation over the signing of the budding Ghanaian prospect right-back read: ''Jong Genk was also active on the transfer market in the final hours, strengthening the defensive line. Young Belgian right-back Emmanuel Sarfo (17) joins from RSC Anderlecht. He will compete with Alfred Caicedo and Kayden Pierre for the right-back position. Sarfo has signed a 2.5-year contract.''
Sporting director at Jong Genk Stijn Haeldermans spoke highly of the promising teenage sensation as he looks forward to working with him in harnessing his talent given his potential in the sporting discipline, telling the club's official website: ''Emmanuel is still young and primarily a choice for the future. He will have the opportunity to further develop at Genk. He’s an attacking right-back with great speed and comfort on the ball. In short, he has the qualities we expect from a full-back at KRC Genk.''
Before sealing his transfer move to Genk in this winter transfer window, he figured in 9 games by netting 1 goal for RSC Anderlecht U18 side in this 2024-25 Belgian Youth League.
Born and raised to Ghanaian parents in Belgium, Sarfo could be a sure bet for Ghana at the international level in the nearest future given his talent as a rising star.
