The Toffees have landed the loan services of the promising teenage sensation of Ghanaian heritage from their top-flight rivals on transfer deadline day, with an option to make the loan deal permanent in the summer
Premier League side Everton have announced the loan signing of London-born Ghanaian youngster Tyrique George from league rivals Chelsea until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old, who was also on the radar of a host of clubs across Europe including ltalian outfit Napoli, German powerhouse RB Leipzig, and Premier League returnees Sunderland this January, passed his mandatory medical examinations before putting pen to paper on the deal earlier today.
A statement confirming his loan capturing reads: ''Everton have completed the loan signing of England Under-21 international Tyrique George from Chelsea for the remainder for the 2025/26 season, with an option to make the move permanent this summer.
''George, an explosive and skilful 19-year-old who is capable of playing across the attacking line, joins the Blues on the final day of the winter transfer window and will be eligible to make his Club debut at Fulham on Saturday.''
George expressed his delight at sealing his move to his new side by telling the club's official website: ''I’m really excited to be here and to enjoy this massive club. I just can’t wait to get started. The fans here are exceptional. I know Evertonians are really passionate. They like hard work – and that’s what I’m going to show. I want to be exciting and I want to impress them.
"The gaffer, David Moyes, was another reason [I wanted to join]. He’s an amazing manager who has coached so many players, like Wayne Rooney, and players like that. I've had a brief conversation with him and he's an amazing person as well. I just want to enjoy it, learn under him and improve."
He continued: ''I feel ready, ready to make an impact," continued George. "It feels like an exciting time for the Club. I’m going to attack this new challenge. I want to hit the ground running as quickly as possible and hopefully I can do that. I've seen some pictures of [Hill Dickinson Stadium]. It's massive and looks amazing, so I'm really looking forward to playing there.''
Prior to his loan switch to the Goodison Park this winter, he took in 11 appearances by netting 3 and assisting 1 for the Blues across all competitions in this current 2025-26 football season.
Having played for the England national youth teams, the budding wideman is still eligible to play for Ghana, Nigeria and England at the senior level on the international stage. He was born to a Nigerian father and a Ghanaian mother in Camden, London.
