The German second tier side have landed the services of the 26-year-old winger of Ghanaian descent from the Turkish elite side on transfer deadline day
German-born Ghanaian wing-forward Aaron Opoku has joined 2. Bundesliga side Eintracht Braunschweig from Süper Lig club Kayserispor on a two-and-a-half-year contract, the club have announced.
The ex-Hamburger SV flanksman, who joined the Turkish side during the summer of 2025, is staging a return to the German football contests in the lowly division campaign beyond the next season's campaign.
A portion of an official statement confirming the signing of the former FC Kaiserslautern man reads: ''Eintracht Braunschweig have signed another attacking player, Aaron Opoku. The 26-year-old from Hamburg joins from Turkish first division club Kayserispor and has signed a contract until June 30, 2028. Opoku will wear the number 17 jersey.''
The Ghana-prospect winger has told his club's media channel: ''I’m delighted to be back in Germany and to have found such a passionate and traditional club as Eintracht. I’m fit and ready to wear the red lion jersey and help the team achieve their goal of staying in the league. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and work with them on the pitch.''
Sporting director Benjamin Kessel added: ''Aaron is fast, dynamic and versatile – he also brings a wealth of experience in German professional football. He is adaptable and increases the quality of our squad. With his style of play, Aaron is a perfect fit for our playing philosophy."
Opoku figured in 20 games for the Turkish club across all competitions this term before he parted company with them on transfer deadline day.
The Hamburg-born winger is still eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage despite featuring for the Germany U-19 & U-20 national youth teams.
