Swiss-born Ghanaian defender Gregory Wuthrich has reunited with Swiss Super League club BSC Young Boys on a three-year contract, the club have confirmed.
The centre-back is linking up with his former club on a free transfer deal after refusing to renew his deal with the Austrian top-flight outfit this summer.
An excerpt of official statement over the signing of the Serbian SuperLig giants Red Star Belgrade transfer target: ''BSC Young Boys is delighted to have signed Gregory Wüthrich.The 30-year-old central defender joins on a free transfer from Austrian champions Sturm Graz, with whom the Bernese has made history in recent years. Wüthrich has signed a three-year contract with YB until the summer of 2028.''
Wuthrich has said right after inking his deal with his former employers ahead of the 2025-26 campaign via the club's official website: ''For me, it's a return to my hometown. I'm happy that my transfer to YB completes a circle. I'm very motivated and ambitious and absolutely want to help YB win more titles in the coming years."
Sporting director responsible for transfers and contracts Mathieu Beda added: ''We have been in contact with Gregory Wüthrich and his agent for some time and are pleased that the talks have come to a successful conclusion. We are convinced that Gregory Wüthrich will bring stability to our defense."
He has so far been cap-tied twice by the Switzerland Senior Men's National Football Team on the international stage given his Ghanaian heritage.
