The man on the touchline at the Stadium of Light feels the 24-year-old midfield enforcer is yet to pick up the pieces after returning from a long spell on the sidelines this term
Sunderland boss Régis Le Bris has said that Ghana international defensive midfielder Salis Abdul Samed ''is not at his best yet'' after retuning from an injury setback for six months in this current campaign.
Following his muscle injury, the RC Lens Loanee has so far been used sparingly by his manager since staging a come back from his injury plight.
However, with a lack of much game time for the Ghanaian midfielder, the French gaffer believes the former Clermont Foot enforcer is yet to hit top form and that has culminated to his limited playing time and should help him to bounce back strongly given the stiff competitions in his team set-up.
''He is not at his best yet, for sure,” Le Bris is quoted as saying by Sunderland Echo
“I am sure, after six months out, it is still difficult for him to find the right confidence, the right references and feel good with the rest of the team. I hope he will build these layers progressively, but at the same time, with other players coming back, the competition in midfield will now be higher. That is good for team, and should also be good for Salis too. It should help him to find his best.''
Salis has so far figured in 6 league games for Sunderland in this ongoing 2024-25 English Championship campaign.
He currently boasts of 19 caps for Ghana Senior Men's National Team, the Black Stars on the international stage.
