English Premier League side West Ham United have had a bid reportedly had a bid rejected as they attempt to sign Ajax winger Mohammed Kudus.
The club's technical director Tim Steidten flew to Amsterdam on Thursday in a bid to secure a deal for the Ghana international.
However, according to a report from The Athletic, Ajax rejected the club's offer as it failed to meet their valuation of the 23-year-old.
Kudus is said to desire a move away from the Eredivisie side before the transfer window slams shut next month.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked to a move for Kudus this summer, with Brighton having agreed in principle to sign him for £35million earlier this month before the deal stalled.
Kudus' current contract at the Johan Cruyff Arena is due to expire in 2025, and the player rejected the offer of a one-year extension by the club in April.
The wantaway star finished last season top of Ajax's scoring charts in all competitions, netting 18 times in 42 games as the club finished third behind PSV and Feyenoord in the Dutch top flight.
Kudus also featured under new Ajax boss Maurice Steijn in the club's Eredivisie opener against Heracles last week, netting in a 4-1 win
