Ghana gave away a two-goal lead to hold a pulsating 2-2 draw against Egypt at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in the second round of matches.
The Black Stars headed into the game on a blistering note and made an incursion on the 5th minute after Majeed Ashimeru made a decent run to set up Antoine Semenyo but referee flagged up for an offside.
On the 13th minute, Ghana started another counter attack with Jordan Ayew onto it but was stopped by Ahmed Hegazy.
The Pharaohs first dangerous incursion was on the 19th minute after Omar Marmoush went down in the box for penalty but the referee waved play on.
With two minutes to full time, Omar Kamal made a good run on the right and crafts in a good cross, was cleared and falls on Emam Ashour but shot straight at Richard Ofori.
Finally, Ghana snatched the lead in the dying embers of the first half with a sumptuous goal, after dazzling around two players and struck with a strong hit.
In the second half, the Egyptians returned on a good note and mounted so much pressure in search of the leveller.
Twelve minutes later, Omar Marmoush made a good run from the right and strike but was tipped off brilliantly by Richard Ofori to a wasted corner kick.
On the 69th minute, the Pharaohs finally got themselves back on level terms through Omar Marmoush who pounced on a poor Inaki Williams back pass to score.
Two minutes later, Kudus Mohammed restored Ghana's lead with a close range finish, and in just two minutes later, Egypt levelled the score again through Mostafa Mohammed.
It ended 2-2 after full time. Ghana will face Mozambique, whiles Egypt take on Cape Verde in the final group matches on Monday, January 22, 2024.
