Milson's late goal hand Angola an important 0-1 win over Ghana at the Baba Yara Stadium to kickstart their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers campaign on a very higher note.
Coach Otto Addo named an expected line up with the likes of Kudus Mohammed, captain Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, etc, all making the cut.
On the part of Angola, knowing Ghana very well, Portuguese gaffer Pedro Goncalves also named a very strong starting XI for the game looking for nothing but a win
Ghana made a very good start to the game as Antoine Semenyo made a daring run towards enemy territory and sent in a cross but met no connection and rolled over for a restart.
The Angolans as always, were a pain in the neck and also made some dangerous incursions with Mabululu, Gelson Dala and Rayo Vallacano's Nteka creating some decent chances upfront but couldn't make it count.
In the second half, the Black Stars picked up from where they left off with Fatawu Issahaku winning an early free kick at a very close range. Kudus Mohammed delivered but his effort was dealt with nicely by Neblu.
The four-time African champions took the game under their total control and launched series of attacks and also had some shots on goal but all were once checked by 1° Agosto goalie Neblu- who was very outstanding in the game.
Finally, Angola scored at the death courtesy substitute Felicio Milson who struck from close range to hit the only goal of the game and hand his side all three points.
This is Ghana's first defeat in Kumasi since 2000 when they lost to South Africa in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana will now face Niger in the second round of matches on September 9, in Berkane, Morocco.
