Ghana international defensive midfielder Elisha Owusu says ''it's never been easy to miss out'' on Black Stars 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar, with team-mates told confidence has been reposed in them to ''get the job done'' over the encounters.
After making the 23-man squad, the 27-year-old has now been forced out of the clashes through injury over the weekend and has already been replaced by Cercle Brugge enforcer Lawrence Agyekum for the must-win duels this month.
Owusu, currently with French Ligue 1 outfit AJ Auxerre, took to his micro-blogging platform to express his sadness over his absence in the games having backed his team-mates to get the task over the line.
''Unfortunately, I won't be able to join the squad for our FIFA World Cup qualifiers due to injury, but I have full confidence in my teammates to get the job done," the former Lyon man wrote on social media.
He added: ''t's never easy to miss out, but I believe everything happens for a reason, and my focus now is on recovery. I know this team is ready to fight, and I'll be supporting every step of the way.''

The French-born enforcer currently boasts of 10 caps with the Ghana Senior Men's National Team since switching allegiance to represent the four-time African champions in 2022.
Ghana will first play Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21 before facing Madagascar in Morocco on Monday, March 24.
The Black Stars are currently tied on 9 points with Comoros in the standings in group l and could boost their chances on securing qualification to the next global showpiece with victories over the ties this month
