Ghana shocked the World by reaching the quarter finals of the first World Cup on the African continent in 2010, equalling the best run of any African nation at the tournament.
Ghana's all-time record goalscorer, Asamoah Gyan missed a last minute extra time spot-kick after Luis Suarez handled Dominic Adiyiah's goal-bound header.
Uruguay went on to eliminate Ghana on penalties, shattering Ghana's hopes of making history.
Asamoah Gyan's penalty miss has been talked about since, and it shows no signs of ending until atleast, Ghana reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.
Then goalkeeper of the Black Stars, Richard Kingson insists that Asamoah Gyan shattered their dreams, but was quick to admit that it's part of the football.
"It was a mixed feeling, our dreams were shattered when Gyan missed from the penalty spot but most importantly we were at the center of history, missing penalty is part of the game," he told Ignite Media
Ghana will face Uruguay, South Korea and Portugal in Group H of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar from November-December, after missing the last World Cup in Russia 2018.
