The chairman of the FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has stressed the importance for the blending of African and foreign based players to form a fierce Black Stars team.
Ghana are currently sitting on a time bomb as their qualification to the 2025 AFCON hangs by a thread after a poor run of results, so far, in their qualifying campaign.
The Black Stars were stunned 1-0 by Angola at home, going ahead to draw against Niger, followed by another draw vs Sudan - leaving Ghana limping in third place in Group F.
“There are players who are playing in the Ghana Premier League, who are playing in Tanzania League, who are playing in Rwandan League, who are playing in other African leagues who will cherish the opportunity to play at the African stage," Arthur stated in an interview with Citi Sports.
"Those are the players I’m saying that maybe we should expand the Black Stars who are local, as in Africa and Ghana, and have the exceptionally good players in Europe to come and join them," he added.
The Black Stars will be out hoping to vindicate themselves in their impending 2025 AFCON qualifying games against Angola and Niger next month (November)
