The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected King Faisal Football Club’s request for a stay of execution in its case against the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
In a ruling dated 1 October 2025, CAS president of the Appeals Arbitration Division, Corinne Schmidhauser, dismissed the application to suspend the enforcement of resolutions passed at the GFA’s Ordinary Congress on 12 August.
“The request for a stay of execution filed by King Faisal FC on 1 September 2025 in the matter CAS 2025/A/11757 King Faisal FC v. Ghana Football Association (GFA) is denied,” the order read. It added that costs arising from the application would be settled in the final award.
King Faisal had argued in their petition, filed through Evans Adika Law, that the Congress was unconstitutional, citing breaches such as shortened notice periods, conflicts of interest, and denial of a poll vote.
The Insha Allah boys are asking CAS to nullify the Congress resolutions and order governance reforms at the GFA.
While the stay has been denied, the main arbitration will continue in Lausanne. The GFA’s August Congress decisions remain enforceable until a final ruling is delivered.
