Ebusua Dwarfs FC have accepted sanctions handed down by the Ghana Football Association and will not appeal, the club’s Public Relations Officer Isaac Fynn-Cudjoe has confirmed.

The GFA Disciplinary Committee imposed a five-match home ban and a GH¢15,000 fine on the Cape Coast-based side after supporters reportedly entered restricted areas and assaulted match officials during their Access Bank Division One League game against Nsuopun Fidelity FC. The club also received a formal warning for failing to provide adequate security.

Speaking on Medeamaa FM, Fynn-Cudjoe said the club would not challenge the ruling.

“We will not appeal the five-match home ban and the GH¢15,000 fine. There is no need to appeal the decision since the Disciplinary Committee rulings are often difficult to overturn,” he explained.

The sanctions take immediate effect, meaning Ebusua Dwarfs cannot host their next five home matches at the Robert Mensah Stadium. The fine must also be paid within fourteen days of receiving official notice.

The decision is a setback for the club as they chase promotion to the Ghana Premier League. Currently five points behind leaders FC AshantiGold 04, having to play home games away from Cape Coast could make it harder to close the gap and secure automatic promotion.
