Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has voiced his disappointment with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing the party of neglecting him during his protracted legal battle linked to the "#Number12" exposé by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

In an interview with Hot FM, Nyantakyi criticized the NPP for failing to support him as he fights corruption allegations that he insists are unfounded.

“My legal team advised me to stay away from the party,” he disclosed, adding, “Even during my prime time to contest the seat, it was an issue within the party. I thought that if I contested, they would have canceled the court case.”

Reflecting on the impact of his five-year legal struggle, Nyantakyi described it as both emotionally and financially draining. “I haven’t spent any government money; I haven’t killed anybody, but I’m still in court,” he lamented.

The former football administrator also recounted his unsuccessful bid in the NPP Ejisu parliamentary primaries, where he garnered only 35 votes. He admitted that his ongoing legal troubles have cast doubt on his future political ambitions.

Nyantakyi's case has gained further attention as discussions intensify about the possibility of Anas being unmasked in court, adding another layer of complexity to the proceedings.
