Former board member of Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Brimah Akambi wants the return of the Ghana Premier League as soon as possible and gave his reasons for that.
The Ghanaian topflight championship hasn't been in session for weeks now due to security worries following the painful death of staunch Kotoko supporter 'Nana Pooley' who was stabbed to death during their match-week 19 fixture against Nsoatreman FC.
Due to this, clubs have also held on with football activities as the Porcupine Warriors are seeking for certain things to be put in the right place before they resume.
However, experienced football administrator Alhaji Akambi admitted it's really a very sad situation but added football has to continue since the clubs are really investing a lot and will end up running at a loss if the league stays on hold for long.
"Football needs to resume," he asserted. "The clubs have contracts with their players, and those contracts can't be paused indefinitely. It's a tough situation for everyone involved."
The Ghana FA on the other hand, have announced round 16 matches of the MTN FA Cup will be held this weekend with all clubs ready to honour their matches except Asante Kotoko.
