The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unveiled plans to invest more than GHS 3 million in providing footballs to both topflight and lower division clubs for the upcoming season, starting in September.
This initiative, which continues from the previous season, is designed to support club development and alleviate the financial strain associated with acquiring equipment.
At the 30th Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaian Soccer Center of Excellence, President Kurt Okraku announced the GFA’s partnership with FIFA to invest $100,000 in footballs for grassroots development.
“Football revolves around the ball. Therefore, our strategic plan to collaborate with FIFA on investing $100,000 in footballs for grassroots development will be repeated,” Okraku stated.
In addition, the GFA plans to invest another $100,000 specifically for colt clubs, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing young talent and equipping them with essential tools for success.
The Congress, which began on Monday, August 26, is set to conclude today, marking the preparatory phase for the 2024/25 Ghana football season.
