Otto Addo, coach of the Black Stars, and his backroom staff have had all outstanding salary arrears paid by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation settled.
Even though Otto Addo and his coaching staff worked on significant overseas missions during that time, they hadn't received their salaries since October 2024.
In the unsuccessful 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign, the team took Ghana to six games between September 5 and November 18, 2025.
Ghana defeated Chad 5-0 and Madagascar 3-0 in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in March under the leadership of Otto Addo.
That has been fixed, though, and Otto Addo is now getting up to $420,000 in salary and other benefits under the terms of the contract. John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann, his assistant coaches, have also received compensation of $64,864 and $75,000, respectively.
Another $19,459 was given to goalkeepers trainer Abdul Fatawu Dauda, who quit his job at Sudan to work as a coach with Otto Addo.
Francis Bugri Tampuli, the team coordinator, was also paid $33,000 for the April 2024–March 2025 period.
The payouts mark the end of a protracted period in which a number of coaches and technical personnel competed for the nation in important international tournaments without receiving money.
