Former Ghana international, Baffour Gyan, has advised former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Danlad Ibrahim, to focus on securing a move abroad after leaving the Porcupine Warriors.

According to Gyan, playing for Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko is a stepping stone to greater opportunities abroad, rather than signing for another local club.

Danlad, who was one of the 18 players released by Asante Kotoko last month, has been told by Gyan to take his career to the next level by moving abroad.

In an interview with Wontumi Radio, Gyan emphasized that when a player leaves Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko, they should aim higher and not settle for a lower-tier club.

"I have told many players about this. When you play for Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko, you don't sign for a lower club again," Gyan said. "If you are leaving, it means you are moving abroad. You are supposed to be determined. You don't play at Asante Kotoko and move to a lower club. This is my advice I have been giving to many players."

Danlad joined Asante Kotoko in 2016 as a teenager and went on to win multiple trophies with the club under various coaches. He eventually established himself as the primary goalkeeper for the record holders of the Ghana Premier League.

However, his performance declined in the last two seasons, leading to him losing favor with his coaches who preferred Frederick Asare instead.
