Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has described Ghana’s upcoming international friendly against Germany as an “amazing opportunity,” stressing that his team cannot wait to test their readiness ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will travel to Stuttgart on March 30 to face the 2014 world champions in what forms a crucial part of the Black Stars’ preparation for next summer’s global showpiece.
Speaking ahead of the high-profile encounter, Addo said the match will provide a clear measure of where his team stands against elite opposition.
“This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world,” Addo said.
“Germany are a good side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart.”
The friendly will offer the technical team valuable insight into the squad’s strengths and areas that require improvement as Ghana fine-tunes preparations for the Mundial.
Historically, the Black Stars have struggled against Germany, managing one draw and two defeats in three previous meetings. Ghana’s heaviest loss came in an international friendly on April 14, 1993, when they suffered a 6-1 defeat.
Meanwhile, Ghana have been drawn into Group L for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where they will face Panama, England and Croatia, setting up a challenging path as they chase qualification and aim to compete strongly on the world stage.
