Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has expressed his frustration with the Black Stars players for their disappointing winless streak in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The team has managed to secure only one point from a possible six, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Angola followed by a 1-1 draw against Niger in their first two matches.
These lackluster performances have left Ghana third in Group F and resulted in a drop of six places in the latest FIFA World Rankings, from 64th to 70th.
In a passionate address to the players at their hotel on Tuesday, Okraku urged them to either step up their game or face the consequences of losing their spots on the team.
"It is either you are with this family or you are out of this family,” he declared. “It is simple, and I swear by my life, if you are out of this family, Ghana will never be represented by ten men; it will be 11 on the pitch."
He continued, emphasizing the importance of seizing opportunities: “Somebody played before you; it is time for you to play, and somebody will also play after you. In your time, if you don’t grab the opportunity, somebody is looking for the chance to play.”
The Black Stars will be looking to bounce back and secure crucial points in their upcoming doubleheader against Sudan, with the first leg scheduled for October 10, followed by the second leg on October 15.
