Former National Sports Authority boss Kwadwo Baah Agyemang has called on the Ghana Football Association to appoint a top-quality coach to lead the Black Stars following the dismissal of Otto Addo.

His comments come after Ghana’s disappointing performances in the recent international window, where the team suffered back-to-back defeats against Austria and Germany, results that ultimately led to Addo’s exit.

In a recent interview, the former MP for Asante Akyem North believes the decision to part ways with Addo is justified but insists the focus must now shift to securing a high-calibre replacement capable of delivering results at the highest level.

“It is a good call,” he said in an interview with Asempa FM.

“My concern now is who are we employing? Let’s go for a top-notch coach. Let’s dedicate good money to top-class coaches. [Any top-class coach] available for 200,000 USD monthly and can get us results, let’s give it to him.”

“There should be no nepotism in appointments. We should get a world-class coach,” he added.

Meanwhile, several names have already been strongly linked with the vacant role, including Hervé Renard, Desmond Ofei, Kim Lars Björkgren and Kwesi Appiah, as the GFA weighs its options ahead of a crucial period for the national team.
