Black Stars Management Committee Chairman, Dr Randy Abbey, has thrown his weight behind Sports Minister Kofi Adams following the decision to make the national team’s budget public, saying the move caused no unrest in the squad.
Ahead of Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifying matches between Matchday 7 and 10, the Sports Minister publicly announced the team’s financial plan, a gesture that drew brought about a lot reactions from football stakeholders.
Some critics suggested that the disclosure may have unsettled the players, even linking Ghana’s 1–1 draw with Chad to the Minister’s transparency move.
However, Dr Abbey has rubbished those claims, insisting that the players were unaffected by the decision.
“I was in the Black Stars camp, and no player complained about the Sports Minister reading out the budget before games,” he told Sporty FM. “I don’t see the big deal in the Minister’s decision,” he added.
The Black Stars have already booked their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will discover their group-stage opponents when the draw takes place on December 5.
