Ghana and Scottish-based goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has expressed elation over his return to the national team and added he is very optimistic of winning on Friday.
The 28-year-old has made a return to the Black Stars having stayed out for sometime now due to injury.
After finally recovering from the hamstring tear he suffered during Hibernian's preseason in July, he's finally recovered fully and has been added to Chris Hughton's squad for games against Madagascar and Comoros in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He's been at the bench for the Hibees in their previous three matches and will look to return into the starting line up as soon as possible.
He comes in to take the place of Belgian-based Abdul Manaf Nurudeen and is alongside Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Richard Ofori, and will definitely have to put in extra efforts to command back the first-choice spot.
Speaking in an interview, the enterprising goalie stated it feels good to return to the national camp. He further indicated it will be tough but feels very optimistic of qualification.
"It is very good it has been a while obviously I was struggling with injury but I feel good and I am happy to be back," he said.
"If you remember the last time it was a difficult journey so we know what to expect we have to be prepared and take these games very seriously.
"I am sure we will get the victory I am confident as always obviously the last one didn't go according to plan but we will rectify this one."
Ghana will take on Madagascar in their opening game of the qualifiers on Friday, November 17, at the Baba Yara Stadium before they travel to play Comoros in Moroni on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
