Newly-appointed Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has expressed his side's readiness ahead of the high profile friendly against sworn rivals and neighbours Nigeria today and believes it will serve as a good test for them going forward.
The former Borussia Dortmund trainer took over the position for his second spell just recently and is stepping in as the successor of Chris Hughton who got jettisoned after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The team is currently in Morocco under his tutelage and has already held three training sessions and unfazed with the current injury situation at his disposal.
Ahead of the epic clash dubbed the 'Jollof Derby", the German-based tactician says the Nigerians can be vulnerable in matches at times and feels they will also be a perfect test for his side ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers coming up in June.
"For me, it’s always the same. Each match has different preferences and different options. But also different hurdles and different solutions and for us it’s always the aim to find the right solutions defensively and offensively," he said in a pre-match presser.
"So I think Nigeria and Uganda it’s an optimal preparation for the team and I think we can expect the same obstacles, so however the game ends, if we take the right conclusions out of these games then we can prepare ourselves for the upcoming matches against Mali and Central African Republic,"
The game is scheduled at 16:00GMT (4:00pm) at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.
