Newly-named Black Stars captain, Jordan Ayew has confessed there is so much pressure in donning the national colours but has challenged himself and his teammates to rise up to the task to ultimately make Ghanaians proud.
Coach Otto Addo and his invited twenty-three (23) players are in serious preparations in the capital, Accra hoping to get themselves adequately prepared and poised for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in this international window
The four-time African champions have three wins and a defeat from their opening four games and are very much focused on moving to the summit of Group I after these games
The Black Stars will move to the top of Group I should they beat Chad this tonight and the entire squad have their sights set on nothing but securing all the three points
Speaking for first time since he was handed the armband, the Leicester City forward admitted the pressure in the Black Stars is too much.
He furthered on by saying the team lacks chemistry as most of the players are coming from different background and feels it will take time despite being together fur over two years.
"When you play for Ghana, there's huge pressure. But we're professional footballers and we need to rise to the challenge.
"I hear Chad have about 10 players playing on the same, so they have chemistry. I've never played with Inaki Williams and Semenyo apart from from the national team so our chemistry will take time.
"International football and club football are totally different. Players like Inaki Williams and Semenyo are Ghanaians but they grew up elsewhere so they need time."
The game against Chad is slated for this Friday, March 21, at 19:00GMT (7:00pm)
