English-based midfielder, Thomas Partey has described his goal against the Super Eagles in the World Cup playoffs, as the most important he's scored so far in his career.
The Black Stars edged out their sworn rivals and neighbours, Nigeria months ago with an away goal difference to book a spot at the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will be held in Qatar later this year- a tie both legs ended in a draw.
The return encounter in Abuja was an epic one after a first leg pulsating stalemate in Kumasi, where Thomas Partey scored in as early as nine minutes from kickoff, hitting a strong one from outside the box to beat Francis Uzoho.

However, the goal was subsequently cancelled by skipper and centre-back William Troost Ekong from a spot-kick.
Speaking on Joy Sports, the Gunner has revealed the goal sent Ghana to the World Cup and also left the entire team and nation in raptures so it will definitely go down as his best so far and probably one of his best forever. He said;
“I’ll say it’s the most important goal in my career at the moment. It’s a goal that took us to the World Cup so I feel happy, the whole team feels happy and the country is happy, so it’s a joy to be the one to score that goal. I feel blessed and I feel happy.”
Partey, who will turn 29 in five days time, was excluded from the Black Stars squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the Kirin Cup tournament due to injury.
The Arsenal star just recently, was honoured in his home town as the 'Mahefalor' means Defender of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
