Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, is expected to appoint a new head coach by Monday, April 13, as the search for a permanent boss nears its conclusion.
Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams confirmed the timeline, with discussions intensifying ahead of the official announcement.
Amid the ongoing process, former GFA presidential aspirant Amanda Clinton has called on authorities to invest heavily if they hope to attract a top-tier manager.
High-profile names such as Carlos Queiroz and Fernando Santos have been linked to the role, underlining the ambition to secure an experienced and proven tactician.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Clinton emphasized the importance of offering competitive salaries to lure elite coaches.
“We shouldn’t be cheap. We should just pay as much as we can,” she said. “If a coach is good, it means he has other options, so we definitely have to pay more.”
She added that investing in the right coach could yield long-term benefits, pointing to increased endorsements and partnerships if the Black Stars return to winning ways.
