Randy Abbey- Ghana FA Executive Council member, has sided with the irate Ghanaian football fans and stated they have every right to be angry and disappointed and admitted they (GFA) have let the country down big time.

The Black Stars exhibited another shambolic performance in Cote D'Ivoire, having failed to win a single game and have suffered another group stage eviction in the ongoing 2023 AFCON, just like the last edition.

Ghana needed just a win to qualify last night but sadly gave away a two goal-lead and conceded two at the death to play out a painful 2-2 stalemate with Mozambique in their final group game to exit the competition.

Jordan Ayew netted a brace against the Mambas last night all from spot-kicks but his goals were cancelled out subsequently courtesy two late goals from Geny Cipriano and Renildo Mandava.

The draw means the four-time champions ended the campaign with just points from a defeat and two draws and finished third in Group B.

Reacting to the eviction, Randy Abbey, who also doubles as bank-roller of GPL side Heart of Lions, has admitted they have disappointed the entire nation and are hoping to patch up all cracks subsequently to get the Ghanaian game back on track.

"There is a lot of disappointment, there is a lot of anger and there is a lot of frustration. Well, what can we do? He quizzed.

“We’ve let everybody down. We need to pick up the pieces, try and do things differently and try and make amends. I have been reading around and I can understand the emotions of people. The level of disappointment and embarrassment is quiet heavy."

The Black Stars players will return to their respective clubs and will regroup again to take Mali on June 5, in their third game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
