A stunning hit from Abdel Latif Bamba cancelled out Anokye Morrison’s opener as Bono rivals Nsoatreman and Aduana played out a 1-1 Ghana Premier League draw at Nana Amoah Koronmansah Park.
A result that leaves both teams twelve points in the 10th and 12th place, respectively, in the top-flight table, neither did enough to leave with all of the spoils, although the hosts should have been the happier at full time after absorbing some late pressure from Yaw Acheampong’s desperate men.
Both were able to put out their strongest XIs - as Mohammed Abdul Rahaman, Adu Kwabena Meider, Rich Sackey and Kelvin Obeng took to the turf from the first whistle - neither side was able to truly assert their dominance in the first 10 minutes.
Indeed, defences largely came out on top as both sides struggled to find that killer opener. However, Anokye Morrison rose above the limitation as he drew first blood in the 21st minute to make it 1-0 to help propel the home team ahead.
Aduana in particular was getting little joy in the final third of the first half - but an opportunity presented itself as Ivorian forward Abdel Latif Bamba had a goal from a nerve cracking position in the 39th minute mark.
The tetchy, awkward action continued at the start of the second period, until substitute Ibrahim Laar came on with fire as he almost did what he does best as a striker, delivering a brilliant rocket which nearly landed home, but went begging away from the post, wasting the most gilt-edged of gilt-edged chances to nab all three points for the Amanaso men.
Ultimately, a fourth game without a win for Nsoatreman leaves them on the 12th position with 12 points below 10th placed Aduana - also keeping abreast of 12 points with goal difference separating them as more questions arise about the Amanaso’s top four ambitions.
