Collins Kofi Cudjoe scored a dramatic late goal as Nsoatreman stole a point in a 2-2 draw with Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League Matchday 9 encounter at Nana Amoah Koronmansah Park.
In a contest mostly devoid of offensive quality, the Hunters looked like they would get the last laugh against fellow Bono club, only for Cudjoe to nod in the Efiri Tete Amanaso' leveller deep into second-half and extend the hosts' draw stalemates in the top flight to two matches.
To describe Sunday afternoon’s kickoff as a slow burner would have been an understatement, and murmurs of discontent were growing around Nana Amoah Koronmansah as their side struggled to get out of their own half in the first 7 minutes as Bechem United attacked by building up and putting in a cross, but Issaka Mohammed clears out for safety.
However, after 12 minutes a penalty was awarded to Nsoatreman after Walid Neymar was fouled in the 18-yard box of Bechem United, which Mohammed Abdul Rahman stepped forward to take and scored, making it 1-0.
Right on the stroke of halftime, goal-scorer Mohammed Abdul Rahman was substituted after suffering an injury. He was replaced by Stephen Diyuo.
The second 45 began in a highly competitive vein, with very huge stuff to write home about, until two flashes of individual brilliance from Bechem as they fired two quick fire goals in the 51st and 57th minutes to make it 2-1.
Meanwhile, the hosts did not fail time and time again in a lucky endeavour as they tried something different, racking the leveler in the 78th minute through Collins Kofi Cudjoe, forcing the match to end 2-2 after 90 minutes plus of soccer fiesta.
The Amanaso now occupy 9th place in the standings with 11 points, while the crestfallen Hunters lie 10th - also on 11 points.
