The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League continues this weekend as Bibiani Goldstars lock horns with Young Apostles in a keenly anticipated matchweek eight clash at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

The Miners will be hoping to maintain their strong home form after securing a valuable 2-2 draw against Hearts of Oak in Accra last weekend. That spirited display kept them within touching distance of the top three, with four wins, one draw, and two defeats from their opening seven matches, a solid start for interim gaffer' Nana Yaw Amankwah’s men.

Match Preview

Bibiani Goldstars have quietly established themselves as one of the league’s most disciplined and well-organised sides this season. The Miners currently sit fourth on the table with 13 points, only three points behind early pacesetters Medeama SC. Their form at Dun’s Park has been particularly impressive, where they’ve collected nine points in their three home games so far.

Captain Vincent Atingah continues to anchor the defence with authority, while Samuel Attah Kumi has emerged as their most dangerous weapon up front, scoring in each of the last two home matches. With Francis Twene pulling the strings in midfield and Razack Sanou offering creativity, Goldstars will fancy their chances of extending their unbeaten run to four matches.

Visitors Young Apostles, meanwhile, have been one of the league’s pleasant surprises this season. The Agya Na Ɔwɔ Tumi side sit eighth on the table with 11 points, showing maturity and fearlessness in their second Premier League campaign. They have already taken points off experienced top-flight opponents, including a commendable 1-1 draw against Berekum Chelsea in their last outing.

Under coach Abu Abdul-Hanan, Young Apostles play with cohesion and robustness, using quick transitions and high pressing to unsettle opponents. Huseine Issah and Samuel Prempeh provide speed and threat in the box, while skipper Ramzy Abubakar has been instrumental in keeping the team balanced in midfield. Despite their underdog status, the Wenchi-based outfit will travel to Bibiani with quiet confidence and an eye on a positive result.

Team News

Bibiani Goldstars:

The hosts are boosted by the return of Gideon Anaba, who missed the trip to Accra through illness but is expected to reclaim his place in defence. Midfielder Emmanuel Kontor remains doubtful after picking up a minor ankle knock against Hearts of Oak, but Francis Twene and Phillip Ofori are both fit to start. Coach Amankwah is unlikely to tinker much with his attacking trio of Attah Kumi, Emmanuel Adjei, and Razack Sanou, who have formed a productive partnership in recent weeks.

Young Apostles:

For the visitors, head coach Abdul-Hanan has no major injury worries ahead of the trip. Skipper Ramzy Abubakar is expected to start despite picking up a slight knock in training, while Claude Shooting Borrtey and Issah Nyaabila will anchor the defence. In attack, Samuel Prempeh should retain his place, supported by the lively Huseine Issah, after his equaliser last weekend. Goalkeeper Zulka Masawudu will again be between the sticks, looking to build on his growing reputation as one of the league’s most promising shot-stoppers.

Bibiani Goldstars possible starting lineup:

Emmanuel Kobi (GK); Edward Agyemang, Gideon Anaba, Vincent Atingah (C), Emmanuel Kontor; Phillip Ofori, Razack Sanou, Francis Twene; Emmanuel Adjei, Samuel Attah Kumi, Michael Nkoah.

We Say: Bibiani Goldstars 1–1 Young Apostles

Both sides have shown resilience and attacking firepower in recent weeks, suggesting a tightly contested encounter in Bibiani. Samuel Attah Kumi could give the hosts a first-half lead with a close-range finish after a Razack Sanou assist. However, Young Apostles are likely to respond in the second half, with SHuseine Issah continuing his fine scoring run by heading home from a Richmond Opoku cross to earn the visitors a hard-fought draw.
