FC Samartex returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion on Sunday afternoon, defeating Bibiani Goldstars 2–0 at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena to end a run of back-to-back draws and restart their push up the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League table.
The Timber Giants, frustrated by last weekend’s goalless stalemate at Berekum Chelsea, flew out of the blocks with sharp pressing and crisp passing, immediately putting the visitors under pressure. Their fast start yielded instant reward as Emmanuel Kofi Essien struck home the opener inside four minutes, drilling a low effort beyond goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi to spark early celebrations in Samreboi.
Samartex’s intensity refused to fade, and their dominance was further rewarded when Emmanuel Mamah doubled the lead in the 16th minute, finishing off another sweeping move that left the Goldstars defence flat-footed. With two goals inside the opening quarter-hour, the Timber Giants seized full control of the match.

Goldstars, who entered the match now sitting 4th on the standings attempted to dazzle, showing brief flashes of promise in the attacking play. Yet they lacked the precision needed to trouble the disciplined Samartex back line, and their forays repeatedly fizzled out.
As the second half unfolded, the Miners pushed harder, but the Timber Giants remained strong, protecting their advantage with authority. The final whistle signalled a well-earned victory, reaffirming Samreboi’s reputation as one of the toughest grounds to visit.

The win lifts FC Samartex to 6th place with 21 points, boasting five wins, six draws and two defeats after 13 matches.
Bibiani Goldstars, meanwhile, slip to 4th with 22 points, having recorded seven wins, one draw and five defeats in the campaign’s opening phase.
