Ghanaian football legend Abedi Ayew Pele has praised Hearts of Oak board chairman Togbe Afede XIV for his substantial contributions to the team's development.

Since assuming majority ownership in 2011, Togbe has consistently pursued a transformative agenda for the club, highlighted by projects such as the Pobiman Complex, currently utilized by the team.

The Phobians have been utilizing the Pobiman Project for training and hosting games, including the recent FA Cup Round 64 match against Nania FC.

Despite a goalless 90 minutes, Nania FC emerged victorious in the penalty shootout, winning 4-3, resulting in Hearts of Oak's elimination from the competition.

Following the match, Abedi Pele, the former Black Stars captain and owner of the lower-tier club Nania FC, commended Togbe Afede for investing in infrastructure at Pobiman.

"He has done a great job. We don't have money in our game, but if he has invested his own money to help the upcoming players, I will always congratulate him because nobody wants to spend his own money in the game today. Nobody wants to do it, so if you see someone who is doing it, please applaud that person," Pele said.

While Nania FC secured the FA Cup title in 2011 by defeating Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak will now shift their focus to the Ghana Premier League after exiting the Cup competition.
