Asante Kotoko have initiated negotiations with Rwandan international forward Patrick Sibomana regarding a potential transfer, according to a report by Nhyira FM.
The Porcupines are keen to bolster their attacking options after missing out on Guinean forward Morrifing Donzo, who opted to remain with Hafia Club. Kotoko have now set their sights on the 27-year-old Rwandan national team striker, who is currently a free agent following his departure from Kenyan giants Gor Mahia.
Sibomana brings a wealth of experience, having played for clubs in Rwanda, Belarus, Tanzania, and Mozambique. He began his career with Isonga and APR in Rwanda before a brief stint with Shakhtyor Soligorsk in Belarus. He later returned to Rwanda to play for Mukura Victory and Police FC, with a spell at Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga) in between, before heading to Mozambique.
The Nhyira FM report indicates that talks between Kotoko and Sibomana have reached an advanced stage, with both parties working to agree on personal terms. Once an agreement is reached, the player is expected to travel to Kumasi for a medical.
Sibomana, who prefers to operate on the left wing but is versatile enough to play centrally or on the right flank, has made 17 appearances for the Rwandan national team, scoring two goals. He played a key role in Rwanda's first-round matches of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
