Andre Morgan Ayew, the captain of the Black Stars, has expressed his deep admiration for Real Tamale United (RTU), describing the Tamale-based side as an important club in the Ghana Premier League.

In a video shared on the social media platforms of the Ghana Football Association (FA), Ayew extended his support to the league and encouraged Ghanaians to continue watching the top-flight matches.

Ayew revealed that RTU holds a special place in his heart due to his family's connection to the club. His father, Abedi Ayew 'Pele,' played for RTU from 1978 to 1982 when he was just 16 years old. This familial bond has strengthened Ayew's affinity for the Premier League.

He emphasized that his admiration for the league dates back to his childhood, where he dreamt of playing in it. Ayew commended the progress of Ghanaian football, particularly highlighting the convenience of live game streaming on mobile phones. He specifically mentioned his interest in following the matches of RTU, as well as other notable clubs like Kotoko and Hearts of Oak. Ayew recognized the importance of increased accessibility, as it enables local players to gain exposure and raise their profiles.

“I have always, not from today, since I was a kid, I have always been a fan of our Premier League. It is a league I personally admire because when I was a kid I dreamt of playing in the Premier League” “I think Ghana football is progressing, we are able to watch the games on phones live, I’m able to watch RTU, that’s another important club for me. I’m personally able to follow what’s happening in our football and that is great”

Real Tamale United are currently lying nineth on the Ghana Premier League log and will take on King Faisal in the final day on Sunday.
