According to reports from Accra-based Max FM, Maxwell Konadu has resigned from his role as the head coach of Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities.
The main factor behind Konadu's decision is believed to be the club's failure to pay outstanding salaries to its players, which has caused dissatisfaction within the squad.
Sources also indicate that there have been disagreements between Konadu and the club's management regarding player transfers, further straining their relationship.
During his time as coach, Konadu led Legon Cities FC to a commendable finish in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League, with the team securing a 9th place position in the final standings.
Under his guidance, the squad achieved six victories in their last nine league matches, showing significant progress.
However, their journey in the FA Cup came to an end in the quarter-finals when they were defeated by eventual winners, Dreams FC.
As news of Konadu's resignation circulates, the club's management has yet to release an official statement regarding the departure of the coach.
However, Kickgh.com sources indicate that Konadu has been in talks with Nsoatreman FC and discussions are far advanced to take over the club.
Sources say both parties have agreed on personal terms and a deal could be struck in the coming days.
