Hearts of Oak stop-gap coach, David Ocloo tasted first loss since assuming the role from Slavko Matic, after being humbled by Karela United last Saturday, March 25, in Anyinase.
The 'Phobians' had their three game unbeaten move stopped by the 'Pride and Passion' outfit who marmalized them by a resounding 3-0 in match-week 23 at the Crossby Awuah Memorial Park.
Since the takeover, the team is gradually improving tremendously, having spurred on goals from Emmanuel Owusu Boakye, Richard Berko and own goal from stalwart guardsman Konadu Yiadom to seal the precious win.
Speaking to StarTimes after full time, Ocloo believes generally they weren't really bad but had problem with defending as they tend to leave more space in between their defensive and offensive lines, reason they lost the game.
"It’s a bad day but I think we didn’t play badly,” Ocloo said after the game."
“Defensively we were poor today because anytime you give your opponent time and space, they will punish you and that was what happened today."
“Offensively too, the finishing was poor because we had a couple of chances that should have been a goal but unfortunately…,” he added.
Hearts of Oak sit on the fourth spot with 35 points on the log and will host regional rivals Accra Lions in the next round of matches.
