The chief executive of Nations FC, Kennedy Boakye-Ansah, has said that Ghanaian football is poised to reap the benefits of reforms and foundations laid by Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku in the near future.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Boakye-Ansah who was recently appointed as CEO of the club after serving as the Brands Manager previously played down reports of tension with the GFA, saying that Nations FC's relationship with the domestic football governing body remains solid despite the controversy surrounding the abandoned fixture against Basake Holy Stars.

“I know the challenges Ghana football has gone through. I think that Mr. Okraku has laid the foundation,” Boakye-Ansah said.

“We might not see the benefits now but I’m pretty sure that in the not distant future, we will start seeing the benefits of the foundation that he has laid for Ghana football.”

Okraku, who was first elected GFA President in 2019 and re-elected in 2023, has overseen reforms including the relaunch of the Ghana Premier League brand, increased investment in youth and women's football, and efforts to improve transparency and infrastructure.

Nations FC placed fifth in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
