The ex-Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfield general Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has affirmed that the Ghana Premier League is not dead as widely perceived by many fans in the country.
The 25-year-old,whose current future is still uncertain at his club,Udinese,is thrilled about the quality of football exhibited by both Kotoko and Hearts in yesterday's President's Cup game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Kotoko won the prestigious President trophy on 3-2 penalty shoot-out after the game ended goalless in full regulation time - a perfect revenge against their opponents after suffering from this same defeat by losing 4-5 on penalties in last year's edition.
And now,the U-20 World Cup gold medalist, who was at the stadium to witness the game and at the same time acting as a pundit at the pitch side said, the quality of play exhibited by the two sides on the day was a clear indication that the the premier league is still one of the best and is not lifeless as some people claims.
"Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak has played a great game, and the fans that came today can hold and testify that the premier league is not dead," the former Recreativo man told SuperSport TV after yesterday's game.
Kotoko have now won three of the President Cup whilst their arch rivals Hearts of Oak have won four since the inception of the Cup game.
